Good morning, kids! How’s everyone today? I’m so glad to see all of your smiling faces. Today, I want to talk to you about something really important: making choices and finding the right path in life. But first, let me ask you a question—have you ever been on a treasure hunt? Or maybe you’ve played a game where you had to find your way through a maze? Was it fun? Was it sometimes tricky?

Let’s pretend for a moment that we’re all on a big adventure together. Imagine we’re in a huge forest with lots of paths, and we need to find the best way to go. Some paths might look fun and easy, while others might look a little scary or hard. How do you think we could find the best path to take?

(Give the kids time to answer—let them share their thoughts.)

Those are great ideas! Now, guess what? The Bible tells us that God is like a guide who can help us find the right path, just like in our adventure. Even when we’re not sure which way to go, God knows what’s best for us, and wants to show us the way.

One part of the Bible, in the book of Proverbs, says that if we listen to God and trust God, we will be shown the right path. We can think of God as the best map we could ever have on our adventure! Isn’t that amazing?

Let’s play a little game together to understand this better. I want you all to stand up and pretend we’re in our forest. Now, I’m going to give you a few choices:

  1. Should we go left, where the path looks easy but we’re not sure where it leads?

(Let the kids vote or choose by raising hands or pointing.)

  2. Or should we go right, where the path looks a little harder but we can see there’s a nice, sunny clearing at the end?

    (Let the kids vote again.)

  3. Or, should we ask God to guide us and help us decide?

(Encourage the kids to all say, “Let’s ask God!” together.)

Great job! You see, when we ask God for help and trust God, it’s like having a light shining on the right path so we can see where to go. Even if the path looks a little tough, we know it will lead to good things because God is with us.

Now, let’s all take a moment to close our eyes and imagine that God is holding our hand, guiding us down the best path. Can you feel how safe and loved you are? God will always help you find the way if you listen and trust. It’s not always easy to hear God’s voice, but it’s always inside of you; all you have to do is take time to practice listening. Be quiet, breathe deeply, and just trust your deepest feeling.

Before we finish, let’s say a prayer together:

"Dear God, thank you for being our guide and showing us the best path. Help us to listen to you and trust you every day, just like we trust a good map on an adventure. We know that with you, we’ll always find the right way. Amen."

Activity: After the message, kids will use art supplies to draw a path on a piece of paper with different choices along the way. Then, they can draw God at the end of the path, guiding them to a beautiful place. This reinforces the idea of trusting God to lead them.
